The past couple of weeks have been such a whirlwind for me especially now that school is back in session, side projects lined up, and a new house to move into. I am more than excited to be sharing my 2019 plans with my readers and letting everyone have a little glimpse of what is happening currently and what lies just above the horizon. I thought of writing a quick blog post to update everyone as to what lies immediately ahead.
I am writing this as five boxes worth of clothes, a box of books, unsurmountable amount of personal belongings stare back at me, waiting to be packed and moved to the new house.
It’s been a bittersweet year living in this current apartment; its four walls have seen more tears of frustration, joy. These walls have heard my prayers, my unapologetic exuberance whenever I dance and sing while I cook, while I shower, while I work. If these walls could talk, I’m pretty sure they’d say “we’ll miss you, bug off for now.”
I will miss the sunrises and sunsets from this balcony, the way they bask and illuminate the whole apartment with a warm, golden hue every morning and every evening. I will miss the arrangement of stars from this perspective, the angle the sun and moon rises and sets. I will miss the constant construction noises, the bangs and clangs of machinery have been my constant companion day in and day out. I will miss this apartment. I will.
A year whizzed past and here I am, turning 22 with so much to look forward to, and so many things to reflect back on but I am unequivocally happy.
But for now, here are some pictures of the new place that we are moving into.
White walls and lots of windows, allowing a lot of sunlight to come in.
Hardwood floor, contrasting well with the muted, white walls and curtains.
Have a little peek of the kitchen’s washing area.
And the best thing about this place? It has a dryer! Say goodbye to long hours of drying under the sun especially in an extremely humid city like KL where your clothes just dry limp due to all the moisture in the air.
I’ve moved 5 times within three years all by myself, and I have to admit it took me that many times to finally have an idea how to move in the most efficient, fast and cheap manner. Moving homes is a big task, and if you’re doing it on your own things could get hectic very quickly. So for the next couple of blog posts, I’ll be sharing my ways, tips, and methods in how to move and settle into a new place. Keep an eye out!
More pictures of the new place and my bedroom will be uploaded in a new blog post when we settle in and until then, take care!
